- Submitted by
After two days of fun and entertaining football action, the Coquitlam U-8 Razorbacks finished fourth out of 14 teams at the British Columbia Provincial Football Association’s Flag Provincial Championships.

The squad was coached by Tim Jurgielewicz, Stephen Short and Jordan Parker and included a roster of Benjamin Legge, Carlo Chessa, Carter Moses, Connor Jurgielewicz, Elliot Bresler, Enei Brovchenko, Eric Rey-Carrillo, Ethan Hamilton, Jayce Esplen, Jeris Cristales, Jordan Gamboa, Justus Parker and Kai Short.

The team opened the round-robin portion of the event going an impressive 4-0, outscoring their opponents 82-13 to claim the No. 2 seed going into the playoffs, earning wins over White Rock-South Surrey Titans (Blue), Langley Colts, West Side 49ers and the Richmond Raiders (Black) —in three of the four wins, the defence shutout the opposition.

In the medal round, the Razorbacks won their quarter-final game against the Richmond Raiders (White), before falling to the Royal City Hyacks in the semi-final game and dropping a close one to the North Surrey Lil Destroyers in the third place game.

Many of the Razorbacks players are looking forward to a short break before getting back on the gridiron for the fall football season in about a month or so.
